Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are an amazing preventative step in preventing tooth decay. A dental sealant is a liquid resin material which is painted onto areas of the teeth with deep grooves or pits where cavities would commonly begin. They are then bonded to the tooth structure. Sealants are quick to apply to healthy tooth surface and are totally painless! Sealants are not fillings and therefore there is no drilling of tooth structure. The amount of time the dental sealant remains in place varies, but they can last more than six months or more. At your child’s biannual examination and cleaning visit we can evaluate the sealant and see if it needs repair or replacing.
Should your child require restorative treatment in addition to their preventative treatment, trust that we will give your child compassionate and gentle care to make their experience as positive as possible. Our goal is for your child to experience the least amount of anxiety as possible. The doctor will communicate with them in a way that they can understand and explain what the procedure will entail. Orthodontic Consultation
At each child’s examination and cleaning visit, we offer children an orthodontic consultation to identify misalignment of teeth as well as other orthodontic needs that may require intervention. Early evaluation is an important step, because while the bones and teeth are in a state of growth, such as in childhood, teeth are easier to move and straighten. Getting started with braces treatment in is easy! We will take xrays, pictures, and study models of the child’s teeth and create a customized plan using braces and other appliances to bring their jaws and teeth into alignment for an amazing smile!
